CROSS COUNTRY NEWS

FIRST TO FINISH The Rebels Cross Country teams participated in the First To Finish meet which was held at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Saturday (September 8). Both teams ran excellent race with a lot of the team members setting new PB (Personal Best). The Girls especially ran a good race finishing 14th out of 42 full teams (5 runners minimum). There were 16 teams at the meet that were ranked in the Top 25 in Class 1A by ILXCTF. com. The Rebels Girls finished ahead of 3 of those teams in the standings. Olivia Frail (16th - 19:19) was the Girls first finisher followed by Ashley Orrick (44th - 20:16), Josie Price (85th - 21:04), Trinity Shimmin (149th - 22:27), Alyssa Dyken (170th - 22:45), Lena Becker (175th - 22:49) and Sarah Fairfield (270th - 24:25). The split between the 1 - 5 runner was 3:26 (over a minute improvement from last year's 4:35). The Boys running without one of their top runner still managed to finish 43rd out 53 teams. First across the finish line for the Boys was Alex Welch (140th - 17:58). He was followed by team members Dawson Dyken (209th - 18:37), Payton Stahl (369th - 20:20), Jack Winans (405th - 21:09), Caden Daum (453th - 21:39), Colby Carroll (480th - 22:23), Christopher Roark (539th - 24:18) and Brett Browning (562nd - 25:35). The were 65 Class 1A schools at the meet with 425 Girls finishers and 592 Boys finishers.
